Deacon Les Mulder
Deacon Les Mulder was born and raised on a farm near Roscoe, South Dakota. He is the second oldest of 4 boys and 2 girls, born to Ben and Lenora Mulder. After graduating high school, Les attended Aberdeen School of Commerce, graduating with a one year business degree in May 1968.
Les started working in auto parts at various new car dealerships in South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois becoming a parts department manager in 1978. Les worked 45 years in parts, the last 17 years at Gurnee Hyundai in Gurnee, Illinois retiring March 1, 2014.
Les met his wife Edna and started attending Pleasant Prairie in April 1985. Edna was a charter member of Pleasant Prairie Baptist church. Les was baptized and became a member on August 11, 1985. Les and Edna were married at Pleasant Prairie on November 30, 1985. They were married for 28 ½ years before she went to be with Jesus July 14, 2014, after a valiant fight with breast cancer. Les has three children, Bryan & Chad Yancey and Kimberly Foster and 12 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Les was ordained a Deacon on June 26, 2005. During his time at Pleasant Prairie he has served many positions. Trustee, Sunday School Director, church recorder, Sunday School secretary, several Pastor Search teams as chairman, Transition teams, chairman of building committee, Assistant treasurer, nominating team. Presently he is Treasurer, Assistant church clerk, Building and Grounds, Usher, money counter, and hospitality team.
Les currently lives in Kenosha, Wi.
